GETTING SPINES HEALTHY AGAIN

FELLING TIGHT AND STIFF?

When the winter months roll in we often hear… “I’ve noticed my body feels more tight and stiff when it gets cold!”

You may have noticed in the colder months your body doesn’t quite feel as sharp as it normally does…

Maybe you have noticed more stiffness through your lower back, tightness in your neck, or that pain between your shoulder blades is playing up more than usual!

You’re not alone!

Keeping your normal exercise routines may be harder…because it’s cold… we know!

Lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder-blade pain, hip pain and shoulder pain can all be symptoms cause by a lack of doing good movements, often (and doing good movements poorly!)

FEEL LESS TIGHT AND STIFF BY MOVING MORE!

Check out the video below for an movement routine you can do at home.

EXERCISE FOR BRAIN AND BODY HEALTH.

  • Walking for a minimum of 10 minutes a day, this releases positive hormones in your brain.
  • Get your heart rate up. It helps cardiovascular health which helps brain health.
  • Do some strength training. This can be body weight or weight/resistance training. Musculoskeletal strength is vital for: bones and joints, connective tissue and your brain.
  • Move your body in different ways. Do novel exercises or movements to help with cognitive function.
  • Set goals and make it a habit. Consistent exercise (keeping fit) helps your brain stay sharp and builds resistance to aging.

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

If you are not already getting your spine adjusted, specific Chiropractic adjustments help to keep your spine functioning optimally and body performing better.

When spinal joints are dysfunctional it creates abnormal loads on spinal joints and discs, as well as abnormal tension in surrounding muscles and ligaments.
Our spine is deeply connected to our nervous system, which means spinal dysfunction creates a level of interference withing the nervous system. This drives our internal stress mechanisms up!

The purpose of each adjustment is to restore normal motion to dysfunctional areas of the spine.
This helps to keep your spinal structure healthy and reduces the level internal stress because your nervous system can do its job more freely.

One of the “side effect” of Chiropractic adjustments is a reduction in the feeling of being” tight and stiff”!
